I am working with Crystal Reports XI connecting to a SQL Database.  I would like to use a formula to suppress the field ***{MC_PurchaseOrder_TTX.MDesc}*** starting that if

{MC_PurchaseOrder_TTX.MExtDesc} ***Field Type: Memo*** is not blank then suppress {MC_PurchaseOrder_TTX.MDesc}.

Is this possible?

Thank you,

Bobbi

In the 'suppress' conditional format button for the {MC_PurchaseOrder_TTX.MDesc} field you can do...

if isnull({MC_PurchaseOrder_TTX.MExtDesc}) then   //don't suppress
    false
else if trim({MC_PurchaseOrder_TTX.MExtDesc})>"" then  //suppress
     true
else    //don't suppress
   false

(Right-click {MC_PurchaseOrder_TTX.MDesc}, choose Format Field, and on the common tab, use the X+2 button corresponding to Suppress.)
