I created a personal profile because I have a website about an era of music and the artists from that era; not really a business....

but  I got to thinking about it and thought I should probably set it up more under a business page.

well, before I actually said "migrate" I just clicked "create a page" in my profile account and created a page.. now I have BOTH of them and it's constantly asking me, do I want to use Facebook under the profile account or the page account.

any help on how to unite this into 1?

More info please.   Do you have 2 pages plus your profile?  Are the pages both being used?  Can you link them here, so I can take a look?   Are you wanting the 2 pages merged or your profile and page merged?

What I want is to have the 1 business page, and no personal page. but I CREATED a business page UNDER the personal page. I want to keep the same url (username)

Can't really link here due to anonymity of the page.

Thanks.

I think you have to start over.  Delete the business page.   If you no longer want the personal account delete it.   Then create a business Facebook account with the username.
The only problem may be that I believe it take a few weeks for the old account to be completely deleted.  If so they may not let you creat a new one with the same user name, unless you use a different email account.

This may seem confusing.  Sorry

I do not think you can just change it to a business page without removing the personal one.
