checkdisk for vmdk disk files

Hello Experts,

I need to know if a virtual disk file is correct.
(Simular to  checkdisk for windows.)

What command or methode can i use to check the vmdk's ?

Version is = ESXi 4.0

you can use chkdsk inside the OS, to check a vmdk.

you can use vmkfstools to clone the existing vmdk, which will verify the vmdk, as it will read and write a new vmdk.

if you are having issue with a virtual machine which is still running, I would recommend the use of VMware Standlone Converter, to create a V2V.

What is the syntax  for vmkfstools to clone the vmdk?
