Outlook 2003 free/busy info takes too long to load

We have recently migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 SP1 and since the upgrade all outlook 2003 clients take too long to update their free busy information.

E.g if i was send a new meeting request and want to check the scheduling assistant in outlook to see other users calendar, i will have to wait approx 5-10 mins before anything is displayed.

This is not the case with outlook 2010 though, the free/busy updates straight away and no lag at all.

I have read other articles and tried turning on encryption in outlook 2003, tried registry setting LegacyFB and also tried cleanFreeBusy switch but none make any difference.

This is now becoming a big issue as lots of users are now complaining and I still haven't found any sort of work around. Upgrading everyone to office 2010 is not an option right now as its happening a few months down the lane as part of the SOE refresh.

Can anyone provide any assistance for a workaround that will help reduce this lag?

Hi Apache09,

yes public folders are configured in 2010 and encryption is turned off as well.
Exchange 2010 servers also got SP2 RU4 but thats no good either.
