Exchange 2010 backup using server 2008 r2

For a couple of weeks now we have been dealing with different issues in exchange 2010, the latest one is not being able to get rid of the logs when we run our daily backup.

Any tricks out there that do not imply dismounting the database, turning circular logging on and then mount the database again and redo the process to put it back to normal?

Thanks for the input.

Are you using windows 2008 r2 built-in backup for exchange backups?
That backup software is not exchange aware, so it does not cleans logs after successful backup.

Thats a temp process ..... Daily backup wont purge logs

To purge logs you will have to either do Full or Incremental backups

Good article, did not remember seeing the vss option when selecting one time backup, which I was running to test disk scenarios. Will try it though.
Thanks,
