Why is my Flash not auto updating?

I manage a lot of workstations at lots of client sites. All have Flash. None auto update...ever. I've been watching my own workstation now which has 11.5.502.146 and am waiting for it to auto update itself to 11.5.502.149. I do see the job in Task Scheduler, and I even right clicked it and ran manually...still on .146. I'm on Windows 7 64bit, but others on Win7 32 bit, and even WinXP are having the same issue. Is it just me, or is this claim to auto-update just a shiest from Adobe?

Usually you are prompted to update flash player after you log into your computer. I haven't seen the prompt to update when logged in for a period of time.

Have you tried logging off then on again to see if you are prompted to update?

Yeap, logged off last night, then logged back in this morning. But even so, that defeats the purpose of an "auto-update".

The only time it should show you there's an update available - like soUser generated image - is if you have it set to notify you instead of autoupdate.

If you want it to autoupdate, in Control Panel -> Flash Player, on the Advanced tab, it should be set to Allow Adobe to install updates (recommended)User generated image
Beautiful example of occam's razor, thanks. Yes, my setting is on for auto-update.
then change it once for notify - to check if it DOES notify you; then you can set it back

Found the answer myself, but thank you for the responses.
since my post led you to the solution you found, i would have expected a gratification
Since I asked Amber, the front desk clerk, where the craps tables were, I suppose I should go back and tip her after I win big? I'll go back and give her gratification, but not because she laid down bets the right way to ride the dice wave. Newbus, I appreciate your comment as much as I do the second poster, but no more, and certainly not any more to deserve points just because you were the last one to respond before I figured out the answer. You could have said, Gee...why don't you mouse over the Flash applet in Control Panel 8 times horizontally while muttering the words, "I cogunt vos ad operandum" and then expect points?
if that is how you think about this, i'll object, and ask a mod if this way is correct
