Check if the recipient is actually available by sending email from Public domain .... also check Inbound\Outbound email using
www.exrca.com

Looks like your exchange databases are not mounted ?

Check all exchange services are started and that the databases are mounted in exchange console
Also ,If the problem is related only to some specific users check they have not exceeded their mailbox size limits

ASKER

theres only one main database. And it's always been mounted according to event viewer.
test results for outbound test, inbound fine.

Performing Sender ID validation.

Sender ID validation was performed successfully.

Test Steps

Attempting to find the SPF record using a DNS TEXT record query.

ExRCA wasn't able to find the SPF record.

Additional Details

No records were found.
there are no mailbox limits. one user that has the issue is me. which helps. My mailbox is only 800mb in size.
Hope no Restrictions nor any email limits to your mailbox ?
Hope its visible in GAL and "Allow Inheritable"

- Rancy
Is the sending mailserver with the same provider that supports your domain

I ask because I have seen situations where the sending mailserver resolves your domain
Internally and therefore tries to deliver the mail to the wrong receiving server (for example a webserver for your domain hosted with them)
it's not with the same provider
rancy - our server has been in place for 5 years. this only started occuring in the last 2 weeks.
Hope no Restrictions nor any email limits to your mailbox ? - none set
Hope its visible in GAL and "Allow Inheritable" - visible and yes to allow
Try to move mailbox to another database and have a check

Begs the question
What might have changed in past two weeks ?
nothing has changed in the 2 weeks. We keep it patched. No major server patch for a while.

I'll try the extra database.

Please note, that I get most emails. Only the odd one that bounces back.
Yes interesting it is only occasional
Suggests some sort of routing glitch

I presume you changed the above example NDR server names (for security)
Are they definitely generated from your mailserver ?
it doesn't look like it coming from our mailserver please see below

could it be easymail ?

Yes that's what I thought
The mail is being routed to their server not yours so obviously is generating an NDR stating the users mailbox is not there ( which clearly it is not )

It would appear that we do indeed have done variation of the scenario I detailed earlier (the mail is going to the wrong server )
