asked on
does Windows 8 installation package come on a 4.7GB DVD?
Hello Everyone,
I am wonderfing if the installation DVD which contains Windows 8 is 4.7GB. The reason I ask is simply because I am not sure if my DVDROM supports DVD DL or double- layer DVD's.
Any shared thoughts or insights to this question will be appreciated.
Thank you
George

Hi Everyone,
Thanks so much for the feedback given to my question. It is obvious that everyone concurs that Windows 8 installation is contained on a standard DVD; smaller than 4GB.
One point of extra interest which was brought out within this post was given by hopeleonie. While I did not fully follow the behind the scenes technical aspects of using a Windows 8 bootable USB for UEFI, it does sound like it would be of great troubleshooting significance if Windows 8 installation files could be put upon a bootable USB flash drive just in case there are technical problems with a DVDROM or if the system itself does not have a DVDROM.
Once again, many thanks everyone for the shared input.
