Server 2003 R2 Ent Domain Controller Upgrade
I have searched all over google and not finding what I want.
I currently have a x86 server running Server 2003 Enterprise R2 and I want to upgrade it to Server 2008 Non R2, but not seeing any help online. The reason I am choosing Non-R2 is because I cant afford to purchase new x64 bit hardware to run R2.
I am nervous as all heck on how to prepare my main domain controller etc for this upgrade.
If you suggest a clean install, how do I get my domain back online with all my AD, DHCP, DNS Etc.
Any help would be great.

A single label domain is one called MYDOMAIN rather than MYDOMAIN.COM or MYDOMAIN.LÒCAL
But is it is a simple structure without Exchange servers you should not be too worried.
Run diagnostics, fix any problems, backup.
If you're really nervous do a test restore into a test domain (not connected to the same network) and to an upgrade in a test environment first.
It's a good idea to know how to restore your AD anyway.
