Openfiler Setup
I'm trying to setup Openfiler as an iSCSI target as directed in the instructions below, however, when I try to "add new iSCSI target", the button is grayed out and I can obviously go no further.

What am I doing wrong?

PS. This is the video I followed. It doesn't use CHAP, but it's pretty thorough:

I've completed every step up to picture 19 (Counting down from the top) on that document (So "yes", I have enabled the iSCSI service, I have created a PV, and I have created a volume group). That picture by the way is the picture that contains the words "add new iSCSI target". It looks just like my screen, only on my screen the "add" button is grayed out.
Did you assign "ISCSi" to the File System/Volume Type on picture 16?
Did you create a physical volume for storage on one of your disks? Did you add that PV to a volume group? Did you create a logical volume inside that VG with type "iSCSI"?

Yes to all the above with one caveat - there is no "iSCSI" option per se... The options I have include: XFS, EXT3, btrfs, Ext4 & Block (iSCSI, FC, etc). I chose "Block".
That is correct. Have you configured Network Access Configuration on the system tab and you're 100% sure you have enable iscsi target and NOT iscsi initiator?
Do you have an available volumegroup from which space will be allocated?
Look on your volumes, do you have one that iscsi?
Check services is the iscsi related component currently running?

Network access has been configured, and the "iSCSI target" has been enabled (not the initiator).
In volumes I do see a volume that has a file type of "iSCSI".

can you post what you see under services?
Which version of openfiler do you have? 2.3 or 2.99?
Your iscsi Target service is currently not running even though it might be enabled.
This is the only plausible reason why your add iscsi target is button is greyed out.

It sounds like 2.3 if "Block" is the filesystem option
This Disk you're writing to on Openfiler, has it been formatted before on a different open filer installation?
The creation of an iscsi target will be permitted as long as the iscsi target service is running. It does not double check whether there are allocateable LUNS during the creation of the targets.
I do not believe ext4 was not an option on the 2.3 version.
I think the block/file deals with when creating an iscsi volume whether it should be block IO or File IO which exists in both version.

It's amazing what you don't see when you're not looking... I guess I assumed that enabled = started.
Thanks!
Thanks!
you need to start the service , from the snap the service is stopped.
PLease paste a screen shot of the screen your on and also clarify where in the step-by-step you are. The phrase "add new iscsi target" does not exist in the document you referenced so I have no idea where you're hung up.
