i have an exchange 2010 server which has an edge server and subscription. mail is ok incoming and outgoing. I want use a 2nd MX record and send the mail through a mcafee device to the same internal address. This is not working but i have noticed that if i telnet to port 25 on the mail server from the edge server i get a responce as i would expect however if i try it from another device in this case a router that is on the same subnet the server does not respond. does this mean the edge subscription only allows icoming connections from the edge server ?
