Data Protection Manager System Center 2012
We have an on-site Primary DPM Server that backs up all our Servers and an off-site Secondary DPM Server. Our primary DPM is protecting over 290 group members split among 2 protection groups (one 30-day retention and one 5-day retention).
On our Secondary DPM, when adding group members to protection groups, on the “Select group Members” step, expanding the Primary DPM to allow its protected group members to be available to add to our Secondary DPM Protection Groups is taking a considerable amount of time. (well over 5 minutes). This is a major issue considering how many group members we have to add.
We have a 10Gb/s network on-site and a 1Gb/s link at our secondary site. There does not seem to be an issue with either server’s resources or the network being maxed out.
Any suggestions on how to speed this process up or what might be causing such a slowness would be much appreciated!
