Moving files and folders to a different sever with existing NTFS security

I have an old server which was used as a file server. I need to move all these folders and files keeping the folder structure, user rights, security, etc.  to a new server.

How can I keep all the properties while moving? If I just copy and paste the root, will it keep all the properties or may create anything?

Old server: windows 2003 32bit
new server: windows 2003 64bit

Robocopy is a good tool. i have used it as well.

Parent child inheritance can cause you some problems.

best option is to disable inheritance from the Parent location on the new server that you are about to place these files before the move
