Exchange Database Swap
I am Vicky's friend, he is busy so asking Experts for assistance
Our client had 2 domains "corp1.san" and "corp2.san" last week Corp1.san domain Datacentre was hit by a Storm and they now want to move to Corp2.san but they want to have their old mails so that their work isnt affected, we have the Database files from Corp1.san Domain and the client IT admin did create a new server rather than do a RecoverServer
We have been unable to mount the database on this new server, so what all things hsould i take care of before i call it a day and take this down and bring with the old name

Create a recovery database
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd876954(v=exchg.141).aspx
and mount the database in it
if it is in clean shutdown and you are in the same forest there is no reason for it not to mount

Akhater, i had tried both Recovery and production Database keeping the Naming convention but wasnt able to as a new\blank database would mount
@seth exchange 2007 and 2010 supports database portability, you can mount the db on any other server in the organization
naming convention has nothing to do in it, if it is not mounting and it is in clean shutdown then you are doing something wrong.
what errors are you having ?

there are 2 cases for this error
1. are you on exchange standard and running out of free databases ?
2. are you sure you are allowing enough time for the replication to happen before trying to mount the database ?

A fresh installation and same try worked fine, not sure what the issue choped first time
This new server, is it the same name as the other with the same partition layout? If you have data from the old server, you can try an Exchange setup in disaster recovery mode but there are some guidelines with the server and exchange setup you need to follow to make it work.
