is it possible to setup group policy offline sync for VPN use
I have a windows 2003 AD and about 20 remote laptop users.
We want to provide them some form of backup solution.
My idea was to have a folder in the mydocs called backup. that would sync when it picks up the VPN connection.
With group policy offline sync. I know this runs on login and logoff.
problem is, the users logs on to the laptop and may connect the VPN after say 30 minutes. Is there a way to get the sync to start with some form of auto sensing of the connection to the office.
Or do we need to look 3rd party.

thanks, I'll take a look.
Is offline folders a good idea in the first place. Just thinking about it.
If the user puts say a good few mb into the backup folder and it's still syncing when they go to sut down. Doesn't windows keep the sync running before it shuts down.

You are correct,Offline files can be a mixed blessing. I would suggest starting a new question to get other answers though.
