Exchange 2010 Edge Transport Message Size Limits
Hello My boss came in and wanted a change to the mail size limits. I'm trying to set new limits on each of the connectors to limit mail size. Our configuration is 2 Edge Transport Servers, 2 Hub Transport Servers, 2 CAS servers, and a 4 server DAG.
I've set the Organization/Hub Transport/Global Settings/Transport Settings Max Size and the same for the Send Connectors/EdgeSync - Default to Internet and the Inbound to Default First Site.
I've set the Server Configuration/Hub Transport/Receive Connectors/Client HUBT and Default HUBT on both HubT servers.
The Edge Sync forced the change on both Edge Servers at the Edge Transport/Send Connectors/Default to Internet and the Inbound to Default First Site settings. All is good there and I think I have all of the settings except
The Edge Transport servers have one more spot to make a change, Edge Transport/Receive Connectors/External Mail Servers and Internal Mail Servers. There's a maximum message size setting also however after the change and a few seconds the size reverts back to the original size 40MB. Where is the setting on the HUB Transport that sets the size for this setting that is updated through the EdgeSync? I've done a group of looking and am not able to find a reference to this setting.
Thanks

Thanks for the inputs from everyone. Some of the links I had looked at searching the issue.
You'll notice that on all of the links they never refer to the Edge Transport Server and being able to change the Receive Connectors.
Also it looks that even though changes have been made to set the limits to 30MB that some settings remain unchanged even though the actual size of emails or the size of attachments reach the upper limits of our 30MB settings are able to be sent.
We are able to internally send mail size upto 30MBs.
We are able to receive through the Edge transport Servers mail up to 25MB which is a limit from the standard Gmail, Yahoo type email accounts.
But for settings there still no way to set the Edge Transport through EdgeSync process for the Receive Connectors.
Basically the settings changed were the ones that everyone said, The Organization Send Connectors and Transport Settings and the Hub Transport Receive Connectors. OWA is still set to the default settings. So if the boss says good then I think this run through the test is complete.
