Macrium Reflect Free
Hello,
1-is there an easy way to test an image backup made with Macrium Reflect Free?
2-It is my understanding that if I create both images available in the free version that I will be able to completely restore my computer, OS, programs and files, these options are:
a-image all local drives on this computer (it is my understanding that re-instating this image would restore all my folders, files and Programs)
b-create an image of the partition(s) required to backup and restore Windows (this will restore the OS) I know that I can also use the Windows 7 backup function to duplicate this in case of an error happening in the backup process.
I would like to feel very comfortable that I have covered as many bases as possible to be sure I can restore my computer with
1-OS
2-All programs
3-all folders and files
(I also use Crash Plan which keeps a copy of everything on the computer in cloud storage, this allows me to pick up incremental files which I might not have had the chance to back up on the images I make every few weeks)
Please correct any misconceptions I might have about my backup plan here!! Thanks

Thanks, but how could I restore from internal Hardrive, isn't that why I need a restore, because something has happened to the harddrive (failed or buggy)
and I am confused, wouldn't I restore the OS first with the Windows disc, then install the local drives image? (so I really need them both on a DVD instead of an external harddrive.?)

Thank you for being patient with my ignorance about this topic, last question here, is there anyway to create a backup that could restore a failed harddrive. Perhaps that would be the upgraded version? I want to be sure no matter what happens, harddrive failure or really bad virus, that I can restore PC as is with all programs intact.
YES, there is an image verification stage in the Backup Wizard. But, my surfing in their support forum indicates that USB HDD will not work all times, you need internal HDD to do the backup.

YES, you need to download the linux boot disc or create a WinPE boot disc and boot the computer from the boot disc.

YES, but I will use Windows 7 backup function.
