Transfer Active Directory
I am trying to transfer an active directory role from an older Windows Server 2008 x86 machine to a new Windows Server 2008 R2 x64. I have never done an active directory transfer before and I need specific steps on how to do it, or if you know of any automated programs/toolkits that could help me out.
I am going to try the Quest Migration Manager, but maybe there is a better process than this.

Replace the hardware and stay on the same domain name
Need to prepare your domain first for R2 then you can run dcpromo.
Once everything is done, you can demote the first server.
No need for 3rd party tools.
