PowerEdge 2900 Raid Reconfigure
We have a poweredge 2900 with one Hard drive in a flex bay (RAID 0) and 4 drives in the 0-3 slots in RAID 5. The first thing I want to do is add another drive to the flex drive and reconfigure from RAID 0 to RAID 1. When I get to that point in Open Manage, I click reconfigure and the execute, I get a "Virtual Disk Reconfiguration Error". It says
Possible reasons include:
- Not enough physical disk space.
- The virtual disk has reached the maximum number of physical disks supported that can be reconfigured at this time.
- Reconfiguration is not supported at this time.
- Invalid configuration. (Please consult the help files as well as the controller documentation for reconfiguring virtual disks.)
There is only one disk in that Virtual Disk (136Gb SAS), it has plenty of space. The controller is a PERC 6/i integrated.
I have tried it without adding the drive first and after putting the drive in the slot. The drive gives a green light when in the slot and it shows up as a foreign drive. The only options on the dropdown for it are blink and unblink.
Thanks for any ideas.
