win 2003 backup shadow & page file query basic queries
hi i would appreciate it if i could get a (yes or no) answer or an explanation if no for each so i can keep up with the understanding - appreciated!
im currently running windows 2003 domain & have setup the following to run but i had a few queries of my own looking ahead of the situation just to make sure all is good from what i have done!!!
i have run backup on both of the following:
- master dc/dns/dhcp server (currently compressed drive)!!!
- file n print server
qns1. i have configured the backups to run at: 17:00pm everyday for both the master dc & file n printer server at the exact same day and times is this recommended to do ?
qns2. when i completed a complete full backup i also selected 'system volume info' but not sure what this is exactly or if i should also back this up or not although i have done ?
qns3. if i ever have to run 'restore backup' on the file n printer server and there is nothing wrong with the master dc, does this mean i have to also run the backup for the exact same day for the master dc also or vice versa, assuming that the master dc server had no issues on that particular day when backup was run ?
qns4. ive run backup and when selecting 'restore' it allows me to choose between the following:
- c: drive - this is where i mounted a drive into c:\ for the moment but in order to increase space
- system state - this consists of multiple important files
but what i wanted to know is when doing a 'restore' would i select both: c:\ & system state to be on the safe side or be specific if i new it was a 'registry' issue for example, then maybe choose just: system state and the specific 'registry' to restore only ?
qns5. on my file server ive backed up on the same d:\ both 'backups and domain user folders', should i separate both into 2 separate partitions for obvious reasons ?
qns6. ive set the page file on both my master dc & file n print server as recommended for min & max to be identical, but what i wanted to know if i have another 2nd or 3rd or 4th partition, would i also have to set a paging file amount for each of those as they automatically show as (nothing added except for just showing that the drive is actually there) or do i just match the exact same amounts for the c: drive ?

thanks for that info thats the exact answers i was hoping for and yes ive got a video and some info i read on the internet but it does not answer what i was asking as such so i had to ask for my own peace of mind.

What are the obvious reasons?
as for the obvious what i meant was if i still had some issue with the c: drive and system state i was not sure if this would affect the rest of the data such as my backup if stored on a d: for example later on maybe!! although what ive done is create 2 partitions:
d:\ drive - this is where my domain users account folder is stored with shadow copies run twice daily @ 09:00 am
e:\ drive - just for daily system state stuff @ 07:00am but no shadow copies as i assume is not really needed
