asked on
router and server DHCP
I have a small network with a server and a router and five clients.
The server is set up as a DHCP server.
I have no email on the server.
I have a shared network printer.
The server is not used for web traffic so effectively it is a file server.
Also, in such a network what briefly would the advantages/disadvantages of allowing the router to configure IP.
Bottom line: if I fail to get DHCP set up on a new windows server can I always set up the router as DHCP server (which I know how to do) and let it assign IP addresses to the network?
