Dear Expert Exchange,

I have hosted my Visual Studio 2010 server in Hongkong with 50 users terminal Licenses.

Can you please tell me How much License do i need for Visual Studio 2010 1 (Single) or 50
(Fifty) please consider that i have already requested Terminal Licenses for 50 users.

Thanks

I don't believe that you can buy Visual Studio 2010 licences any more, certainly from Microsoft, you can only buy 2012 and excersice downgrade rights. The white paper documenting this is here:-

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13350

In general ALL microsft sofware is licenced per user (some have per device option, but not Visual Studio, and any way in a TS environment its the remote device that you license not the server where you install the software) which means you need a licence for each person.

Also given the high resource demands of visual studio I would say that even on a big Terminal Server box you woun't get any where near 50 sessions. I suspect 4 or 5 max...
Note that the reverse applies, so even though you have terminal services installed any of your users with licences can download and install any version of Visual Studio on as many computers as they wish, provided its only used by themselves.
