Gigabit switches and backward compatibility
Hi There
I am upgrading switches on a clients cat5e network to Netgear Prosafe Managed gigabit switches and would like to know if there will be any issues?
Network is CAT5e with fibre links from main switch to 3 others. Network cards in pc's are mainly 10/100.
Please advise?
Thanks

you can also research how you can use core switches to build a better infrastructure.
There are going to be 40gb/s /100gb/s interconnects in the future from the switch as it goes into 10gbe ie 24 10 gb/s needs a lot of bandwidth in a switch to switch design although as you can imagine these are going to be expensive for a few years.
