Mac Mail – How to limit the amount of data per email – Exchange 2010 backend
Hi,
We have a user who wants to use Mac Mail instead of Outlook 2011 with their Exchange 2010 email account for various reasons.
As they have a large mailbox (about 16GB) they want to restrict the amount of data that is downloaded in each email? Therefore for example they want to set it that Mac mail only downloads the first 50kb of each email message (maybe downloading the rest only when the email is clicked on) . I believe this is possible in Outlook 2011.
Also will Mac Mail support complex file structures of subfolders and subfolders within subfolders that would be great.
Note the Mac version number is 10.8.2
Thanks in advance.

Thanks. The client conceeded in the end they would have to use Outlook as Macmail clearly does not support the range of features they want to use.

OK so you are saying that if we connect via exchange, the sub folders will not be supported and that it will only show the inbox?
Also when you go to:
Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advan
So are you saying that I wont be able to set the amount that can be downloaded per email?
If offline viewing is not supported, does it show all the emails that are in the folders at least in offline mode and if you have downloaded an email once does it remain downloaded?
Sorry that I don't have access to a Mac when writing these questions but I have to advise someone else tomorrow.
Thanks
