If it is list I understand that once you click submit button all the field details will be saved in sharepoint list.<br />

If forms, then sharepoint will hold the content in the form of xml file.

I went ahead and followed your advice, but when I tried the form I received an error. I ran it through the design checker and it said the rule for my button could not be applied because it is not compatible with web enabled forms.

Problem solved! I had some options checked that I forgot to change when I eliminated the submit button.
