How fix a bad MP3 (m4a) file for iTunes? "Itunes cannot copy <xxxxx> because the file could not be converted"

I get this error when I try to Sync Itunes with either my iPhone or iPad:
"Itunes cannot copy <xxxxx> because the file could not be converted"

Now, I bought and paid for this album thru iTunes ... it happens to be album "Red Dog Speaks" by Elvin Bishop. I get the error for songs 4, 5, and 6.

I have deleted & re-downloaded , no luck.

Does anyone know how to fix this? After Googling around, it looks like a common error, and some old posts say I needing the "MP3 file fixed" (though the files these days look like .m4a extensions that were downloaded)

They are all format "m4a".  I tried to see if there was any obvious diff between all files in that album ... nothing obviously different on the outside ...
From the error message, it seems to me that it is iTunes  that is having problems with a song on your iPhone rahter than the other way around, unless <xxxxx> in the message names one of the songs three on the "Red Dog Speaks" album...
