The reason why these OEM licenses are so cheap is because these are supposed to be packaged with computers for resale. &nbsp;I don't know the exact legal verbiage behind OEM licenses but I do know they were not designed for individual use and only to resell with a computer. &nbsp;I do know this is not the proper way to license a computer. &nbsp;If you want to stay clear of Microsoft legal (assuming if they ever audit) you should always buy a full copy unless you have a legitimate resellers permit and are a reseller of computers.

I need to do a brand new install of windows on a machine that I have repaired. &nbsp;I need to buy a new copy of windows so I went shopping online.<br />

I've found windows 7 pro and windows 7 home premium for $95 and $60 respectively, and windows 8 pro full for $67. &nbsp;<br />
