Adding hot spare to RAID 1 (SAS6/IR) results in PermDegrd
My primary drive I suspect has some inconsistencies and bad sectors, so when I try to sync it to a new HDD it returns PERMDEGRD.
What is the best way to mirror my functioning HDD (with bad sectors) to my new drive?
Is the best way via LiveCD? Will I have to worry about it being detected in the RAID -- as Bootable Drive, when I mirror the information to the new drive?
In the list below, what would be my best option?
Of all of this, I'm mainly concerned about the cloned HD being recognised by my RAID.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Needed to know "sector by sector" which will include MBR etc.
