Firefox won't use default .pdf viewer
When opening a .pdf file in Firefox with FoxIt Phantom PDF set as my default program I get the follow error:
There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader.
If it is running, please exit and try again (1).
I don't even have Adobe Reader loaded.
Why does this happen, and how do I correct it?

small underline comment here, in Mozilla´s last build (19) there is their own PDF viewer built-in

This error occurs sometimes with Adobe Reader X on Windows 7, Vista, or sometimes XP.
So check your Installed Applications through Control Panel and remove Adobe if it's there.
