Trying to access a Cisco 2950 switch...HELP !
Hello,
I was digging through some old equipment and found two Cisco 2950 switches. I, many years ago, was working towards my CCNA and learned basic commands etc. I would like to pick up where I left off and continue on to a CCNA.
I have attempted to use a console cable to access the switches, but I don't get any messages on the screen. I played around with the baud rate etc. but I get nothing.
Are there other ways of accessing this switch so I can in effect, return it to factory defaults ? I have no idea what config is on these or what passwords they may have.
Thanks!
Ian

Brilliant....guess I wasn't patient enough! I hit enter 3 times and away it went.
Now, if I need to post this as a new question, that is okay, if not, here goes,
I have a prompt that says "95564sw>"
I type a command and get asked for a password. Is there a way of resetting the password from this mode?

No problem, happy to help. :)
• 9600 baud
• 8 data bits
• no parity
I usually have to hit enter 2-3 times before a prompt appears or else have it connected when you turn the switch on.
