ricoh c4502 scan to email to exchange server

HI all, we have a  ricoh c4502 MFP connected to our network. We had a domino email system and we were able to scan to email from this machine and we'll receive the email with the attached pdf document.
We migrated our email system to a hosted exchange server and so far, we can scan and receive the email but the pdf attahment is really garbage/plain text embedded in the email instead of being an attachment.
We can't think on any other setting that we must change. We can 'see' the pdf image in preview on the MFP and it looks like a valid pdf, so we don't know what happens by the time it gets to the exchange server.
Has anybody experienced something similar??
Thanks in advance.!

We've uncovered lots of issues similar to that with our Exchange 2013 deployments. Is this an Exchange 2013 hosted solution? There are apparently some known issues with Exchange 2013 that Microsoft is developing a patch to resolve. Release of patch was slated for this month, but we haven't seen anything yet.

If you're on Intermedia or ScherWeb I suspect you're now using Exchange 2013.

Thanks mgortega, yes, it's a hosted exchange 2013 solution.
Sorry, you're in queue waiting for the patch like the rest of us. Maybe you can contact your host and let them know of the software bug. Perhaps they can leverage their relationship with Microsoft to push the release of the patch along. I have to believe that they are taking heat on this themselves.

I will suggest to try to change the settings on the printer to send the scanned documents as JPG.
Don't think it's a type of attachment issue (e.g. PDF only). We've had the problems with PDF's, WAV files, etc.

We also tried as a tiff      /      jpg pdf/a no compression at all and same result.

You turned off the size limit on your copier or you turned off the scan size limit on the receive connector in Exchange?

MO
On the copier itself even we had it on 50mb nothing was going  thru. It' s working now but we still have some little issues when scanning large docs but Ok with less than 10mb. Although it's a hosted service according to our provider there was no other change on the email server. It might worth give it a try.
Hi Gents

Exchnage 2013 scanning from any Ricoh Multi Functions MP 2851,MP 3501, etc Scans MIME Format.

My Exchange Server is Using Pop as incoming due to PC's being updated.

How can i Scan to Email via Pop?
I think you should open another question.

Too many questions here for different subjects
Provided might have changed other settings on the printer connector from exchange, maybe the limit for attachments. This plus turning off the limit of the file on the printer did the work.
