FreePBX Asterisk recorded audio is out of sync

We are using Asterisk 1.8.8 and FreePBX 2.10. We record all of our inbound and outbound calls. When an incoming call comes in, the recorded conversation audio is off. The caller's audio will be correct and our internal conversation will be either very early or very late, which causes the audio to overlap in places and makes it very difficult to understand the conversation. If the conversation is over about 2 minutes long, the audio will eventually correct itself. I have updated SOX to the latest 14.4.1 and I am still having this issue. How can I fix this?

Are you Transcoding either side of the conversation ?

How do I tell? I'm just using the built-in call recording functionality of FreePBX 2.10
core show codecs
core show translation

To tell which codec is being used for a specific call use one of the following CLI commands:

sip show channels
