Recommended C: Drive size on Server 2012?

Wondering what everyone believes to be the ideal size for the C: partition in a Windows Server 2012 box? We usually partition D: to be ONLY for Data. I think 100GB should suffice? Always hate making it too small, and then run out of space.

For Windows 2008, Windows Server 2008R2 and Windows Server 2012,  OS (C drive) partition size should be set as 66 GB irrespective of OS version (Std, Ent etc…)  and platform (32bit or 64bit) and C drive should have 6 GB page file.

You can check the following link:-

Really it's down to how you intend to use the server, how you manage your volumes, etc.  Nobody can predict if you will 'run out of space' since we don't know what you will be using it for.

One thing though, the pagefile size should, ideally, be 1.5 times the amount of physical RAM the machine has - not 6 GB irrespectively, as someone else suggested.

Yes, 100GB is ok. If less provided then in 1-2 years it will fill up. Mainly due to updates and backup copies of drivers and updates that Vista+ stores in Windows directory.
