DHCP PASS THROUGH ON CISCO AIRONET 1130ag

I have set up a Cisco Aironet 1130ag Wifi Access point, Wifi devices can see the network, connect using the password/key but do not get an IP address from the ADSL Router. I have tried two different manufacturures Router, the result is the same.

Looking on a Cisco Forum site someone has stated you need to tell the 1130ag of the DHCP helper address.

Can anyone give me a solution for this, the Wifi system which is for visitors must give out iP addresses.

I have tried both a static ip address and DHCP to give the Cisco 1130ad an ip address. Both work fine and I can communicate from a PC on the physical network with the 1130ag. The problem comes when using a laptop with wireless card/port, the named network is visible, a connection takes place after submitting the password/key but no ip address is received at the PC. The DHCP server is the broadband or DSL Router, the PC ends up with a 169 dummy address indicating it is not hand shaking and communicating with a DHCP server. I can confirm that both routers give out ip addresses with phical cable connections, Wifi to the Routers themselves, via an HP Procurve 420.

Can you post the config for the AP?
I have your solution,

I was having the same issues with my Sonicwall NSA 220, I had designated the X5 port to serve DHCP for that LAN, 192.168.10.0

However, when I setup my Cisco Aironet AP, my clients would connect to the SSID and they would receive DHCP from the AP itself.

I removed the local DHCP on the AP, and proceeded to create a DHCP scope on the sonicwall, but the DHCP would not pass to the clients on that SSID.

After trying mostly every other solution, I found that I needed to enable this command on the BVI on my AP.

go to your BV interface and issue the following command (your own IP of course)
ip helper-address 192.168.10.6

That was my Interface IP on the X5 port in the sonicwall.

After that, it immediately passed DHCP to my clients on the Aironet SSID.

Hope it helps!!
