well you need to add another server to your domain and then run dcpromo and add an additional domain controller to your domain.  make sure that dns is installed on both systems and that both systems have both dns servers under their ip configuration.  Once you have the other computer on the domain and acting as a domain controller.  U can go to the original computer running active directory and run dcpromo and remove it as a domain controller.  However, i suggest that you have no fewer than two domain controllers at any given time.

Agreed - the simplest way is to add a second DC but there are some important bits missing in the previous comment.

Add a second DC and make sure that it is also a DNS server - allow it to replicate.
Move the FSMO roles to the new machine - http://www.petri.co.il/transferring_fsmo_roles.htm
If you are using DHCP then move/install DHCP in the new DC as well
Configure all clients to use the new DC as the default DNS server (both static and DHCP)
Switch off the old DC and test
Once you are happy, switch the old DC back on - DCPromo it and remove it.
