Upgrade Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2010 SP1, SP2 or Exchange 2010 SP3
http://technet.microsoft.com/el-gr/library/bb629560%28en-us%29.aspx

You should upgrade your Exchange 2010 server roles in the following order:

Client Access

Hub Transport

Unified Messaging

Mailbox

I have already checked above URL , but i need some brief description
1. Due we need to reboot the all servers after upgradation
2. Do we need to upgrade all the servers at a time or else can we upgrade some server in 1st week , rest on 2nd week
3. what are the precautionary measurements need to take
4. Brief step by step process

Yes as if not it wont allow you any updates as it will always say ... Restart pending since update
You can upgrade set of servers .... but servers with the same role should always be upgraded at the same time
Take proper ExchangeDB and SystemState backups

Thanks Steve and Rancy  for your suggestions ,

I have some more query

1.  If we want to upgrade  EX2010 sp2 to sp3  , is it mandatory  to upgrade all the exchange server roles (HUB/CAS/MBX)  .?
2. Is it mandatory to upgrade both Production servers  and DR servers ?

Production   :-  HUB/CAS roles  on same VM machine  --- 2 servers
                                    2 MBX servers physical

DR         :  1 physical server holding 3 roles (HUB,CAS,MBX)

Thanks

Agreed - you definitely want to have all of your machines at the same level..  The only thing I was saying is that it's not like you have to do them all exactly at the same time, so, within reason, Exchange will function for a day or two on your production system which has been upgraded while you get around to upgrading your D/R system..  I wouldn't wait too long, and it's probably not a "supported" config, so if you were to run into problems, the first thing Microsoft is going to tell you is to upgrade your D/R system to match production, but the world isn't going to fall apart in a short time while some servers are on one SP level and some are on another..

With in the little span of time (1 week difference ) we will perform on both production and DR servers .

According to our environment the EX2010 SP3 upgrade procedure  list in the order respectively (if any changes require please suggest)

FYI : Due to some issue we have shutdown one of the HUB/CAS server in production , No NLB

1.CAS/HUB  role on production server , since both roles are in same server

3.MBX role on production server
4.CAS/HUB/MBX all in once on DR server

Thanks

After upgrading Ex2010 sp2 to sp3  ,  if any thing happen  with the exchange environment

shall we rollback the sp3 ,

how to rollback/uninstall  the sp3 installation?
Manpreet SIngh Khatra

Nopes i would say take a SystemState backup and learn how to get back things to how they were ... Rolling back isnt easy and quiet possible in many a terms

Run EXBPA and ensure no such errors that can harm upgrade if so take care of them

I would be very hesitant to do a systemstate restore, just because I'm sure there's version numbers in the DBs and/or active directory that would be updated.   That being said, I agree to take the backup would be a great idea - I just wouldn't restore it except as a very last resort.

I do know there's a RU coming out in coming weeks to fix issues in SP3.  The only issue I'm aware of specifically in SP3 is that there are issues delivering mail to mail enabled public folders, so if you use that, I'd be wary of installing it yet without testing in a lab to see if your configuration would be affected.
