Why Window 2008R2 is taking lot of time to install the Microsoft updates.

Hi

I have  installed window 2008R2 SP1 on a HPDL380 server and  the microsoft windows update is taking lot of time to get installed. It has been doing the updates from past 3 hours and it has completed only 56%. I have to keep this server ready by tomorrow. Will i have any problem after it reboots.
Is this common?

Any help much appreciated
