Sharepoint group calendar resource scheduling email notifications

We have a conference room signout schedule on our extranet using Sharepoint.  When a person schedules a conference room and signs out a resource such as a laptop, can we send a automatic email notification to a email address?  We want the notification of the laptop signout, not all conference room signouts.

You can create a simple workflow to do this

Im not sure what version of Sharepoint you are using but these MOSS 2007 guides are still relevant (things have got easier in newer versions):

Thank you.  I am creating right out of Sharepoint and not using designer.  I worked on creating a work flow but it attaches itself to the entire request when signing out a conference room.  I need it to specifically only attach to when a item(s) is selected as a option under the conference room reservation.  When a item(s) is selected then it just needs to send out a email notification.  It is not asking for any approval, just a notification that a laptop or projector is needed.

I did figure this out before seeing this post, but this answer is right on.  Has to be created in Designer.
