vm.swapiness issue
Hi All,
Running RH5 and came across a RH document about tuning some kernel parameters for swap and Oracle 11g. After I made these changes my swap went from 300MB to 1.9GB and memory allocated dropped from 40GB to 7GB. It nearly brought the box down and seems like the vm.swappiness was being read more as 100 instead of 0. Has anyone seen anything like this? I removed the parameters and now the swap is dropping while the memory is increasing.
vm.swappiness=0
vm.dirty_background_ratio= 3
vm.dirty_ratio=15
vm.dirty_expire_centisecs= 500
vm.dirty_writeback_centise cs=100
Thanks for your time
