Outlook Calendar appointments change from appointment entries to HTML mail messages
Outlook Calendar appointments have changed from appointment entries to mail messages. These appointments were in a series. There are many appointments at various times that are also series. At first, only a few were affected, now for some reason more and more of these appointments display mail messages when I click on them instead of the appointments.
The series pop up doesn't come up and it goes straight to an email message. Nothing can be modified on it. It closes after modifying, but does not keep the changes, send is greyed out and message cannot be forwarded.
This happens after the appointment has been modified in one occurrence and then saved. It then changes that occurrence to a message that cannot be modified or deleted. All other occurrences in the series are unaffected and can be changed or deleted normally.
This is a shared calendar being accessed by both Outlook 2007 & Outlook 2010

This is a calendar used for scheduling and is not usually open in a profile, just as a shared calendar. I opened it in a profile and got about 1500 reminders, so I ran
outlook \ cleanreminders (didn't help).
Also, the appointments are only entered and edited by shared calendar access and we have upgraded 2 of those computers Office Suite from 2003 to 2010, and this seems to be when the issues started.
I will try the resetfolders in a profile and let you know if this helps.

I ended up just creating another AD account and shared that calendar, then creating the recurring in that new calendar.
Thanks to Rancy for your response and I will accept your suggestions as a resolution.

The easiest resolution was really to just create a new calendar. I could not wait for a resolution, , and it was hard to troubleshoot the existing calendar due to the intermittent occurrence.

Sorry, I thought I did! :(
Outlook\Reset folders
Did you try with a new Outlook Profile ?
Does OWA\Webmail show the same issue ?
