Ethernet a Gigabit

How can I tell if my laptop computer has an Ethernet port that supports Gigabit speed? It is a Lenovo laptop purchased about 2 years ago for about $1,000 running windows 7.

Thanks!

I would guess yes.  Gigabit Ethernet has been the standard for a few years now.

However, what exact model is it?

You can also click on "Start --> Control Panel --> Network and Sharing Center"

Then click on on "Local Area Connection".

Click on "Properties"
Click on "Configure"
Click on "Advanced" tab
Click on "Speed & Duplex"
Then click on the down arrow in the "Value" box.

Does 1000 Mbps or 1.0 Gbps show up?
