Toshiba Sat Pro S200/300 incorrect battery error on Win7
We have installed Windows 7 on some of our older Toshiba Satellite S200-300 model laptops to keep them inline with the existing network infrastructure.
I am aware it is a known problem but am after some workarounds to rectify it. Maybe a driver or registry hack?
The Battery shows up with an X over it when on battery or charging and states Consider replacing your battery. The batteries report fine when used in a compatible fitting device that fully supports Windows 7 however.
Oddly enough the older A100 & A120's have no issues about complaints over batteries.
I'm probably asking a bit of a simple answer for a more complicated question really, but any help would be appreciated.

A simple answer would be to replace the laptop with one that supports windows 7.... But then again the people managing the infrastructure budget may think this is a more complicated solution.

I'm in charge of the I.T budget too, but we're a school so it's a small budget..

Will do. It seems it's only the single-core P4 version of the A120's. The dual-core version doesn't have the issue.

Still some issues exist, however it seemed to clear up on some models. We will try the solution by Michael-Best if it comes up again.
