Mouse hover - turn off - not working
I'm using Windows Professional 7 SP1, running on a Lenovo W510 laptop.
Some months ago it started to react on just mouse movement (no explicit click).
If I hovered over a window it came in the foreground. Same thing happened if I moved the mouse pointer over a button. It actually clicked the button automatically. This happened more ore less frequently. Often making the whole screen cluttered with newly opened windows. Just like it lived its own life.
I accessed the Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Ease of Access Center\Make the mouse easier to use and ticked the "Activate a window by hovering..:", clicked Apply, then un-ticked the same Select box and clicked Apply again. Sometimes this works for some hours, but it repeatedly comes back with the same problem.
Is it possible to disable this hovering "deep down" in the system ??
I'm soon to throw the whole f... ing machine out the dooor !

Disabling TrackPoint seems to work stable. This means it actually was a mouse problem.
Michael, I would like to give you points for directing my mind. Not sure how to do it though in this system... (i'll try)

Testing showed that this was the solution. It remains to be tested why TrackPoint is not consistently failing (only now & then)

My comment appears to be correct.
