Exchange 2010 retention policies from 2007

Several months ago I performed a migration from exchange 2007 to 2010...  everything was smooth... after the migration, I did the full uninstall of 2007 to remove it from active directory, still no problems....  On the old 2007 box, I had a message records management policy setup to delete messages from deleted and sent items after a certain period of time...  Now that 2007 is gone, I have a few users that tell me their messages are still being deleted after a certain period of time...  I look at their outlook and sure enough their boxes only go back so far... I have no retention policies applied to any mailboxes on 2010... is it possible that there are remnants of the old 2007 policy still hanging around deleting these old messages???  if so, how do I find them???

thanks
