The 'vfpoledb.1' provider is not registered on the local machine
Hello,
First the error: "The 'vfpoledb.1' provider is not registered on the local machine"
This is a classic asp website that uses Fox Pro database in the back end.
I am moving this website from windows 2003 x32 to windows server 2008 R2 x64. I have installed the VFPOLEDBSetup.msi driver from Microsoft website. It comes with the file vfpoledb.msm and I don't know what to do with this .msm file.
Anyways, I have registered the vfpoledb.dll at the following locations:
1. C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Ole DB2
2. C:\Windows\SysWOW64
I still get the same error. Please tell me what I am doing wrong and how I can fix it. Fox Pro resides on another server and I can successfully ping it. The above process is the only thing I have done so far. The website otherwise runs fine, except when it has to make a connection to the Fox Pro database.
I am not a programmer or a web host, simply an IT person.
Looking forward!
Regards,
Bill
