Can't access my optical drive on HP p6610f

There is an error within device manager.  Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39).  I've right clicked uninstall to no avail.  My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium.  Thanks in advance.

Is it detected in BIOS?

Do you have the driver CD with the drive?

Downloading drivers form the HP website?

Has this problem just started?

Check that the drives cables are seated correctly.

In Device Manager right click the DVD driver and select update driver.

If windows cannot find the driver then:

Go here and enter your OS Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit or 64-bit)

Dowload and install latest drivers.
