asked on

SFTP CentOS Server in DMZ & Windows AD behind Firewall

Hello all,

I have set up a SFTP CentOS Server at the  DMZ. But, behind the firewall, i will have regular windows AD users.

Question ?
What is the easiest way for Windows AD users to drop files into the sftp server so customers can get those files ?

Thanks for your help,
Linux

But samba shares does not mean that I have to join the CentOS into the domain right ?

That will work but how about this completely different approach:

1. Make a windows share where your internal users can copy the files to be shared

2. Use a service that watches that folder and automatically uploads new or updated files, like this: http://www.robo-ftp.com/help/3.9/the_hot_send_feature.htm

This way the only credentials you need to manage is one SFTP logon account used by the automatic upload service... less change for a mistake that opens a security hole.
