Extending System Parition

Have partition, my C:\ (system partition) that I want to extend.  System is a virtual machine.  System partition is 20Gb, and I want to add another 20Gb.  I've tried using "diskpart" from the command line but it is telling me that I cannot extend this partition.  We have also moved the pagefile to another volume.  Any thoughts?  Is this not possible?

Thanks.  I found an easier way.  Expart.exe which you can get from Dell.  If working on a 64-bit system, ensure you do the extraction of the zip file on a 32-bit system because it won't work right on a 64-bit system.  Very easy to use, worked like clockwork.  Thanks for you submission though, since no one else responded, I'll go ahead and give you the points.  ESX 4.1 is platform we are on and we did read about removing VMDK file and mounting on another VM and extending it there.    When you add the disk to the other VM, is it simply moving the VMDK file from one datastore folder to another folder in same datastore or on another datastore if other VM located there?
Thanks for you help.
Thanks for the points, you do not need to move vmdk file to mount on other VM, when you are adding the disk to other VM, the wizard asks to create new or use existing one, select existing one and point it to the VMDK file you wan to mount.
