vSphere 5.x High Availability (HA) setup on Dell PowerVault MD3220

Looking to use a Dell PowerVault MD3220 SAS DAS and two Dell R720's to take advantage of VM's High Availability module in the vSphere offering.

Dell told me this could be done even though HA's documentation says you need shared storage such as iSCSI, FC or the like.  The concept of the MD3220 is that you can connect multiple servers to it and it can share the same storage using a Host Group in VM but does vSpere HA recognize it and allow you to take advantage of that module?

The MD3220 SAS DAS is support as Shared Storage for VMware vSphere

See the VMware HCL (Hardware Compatibility Lists) here

MD3220 here on the HCL

Thanks for the response but where does it refer to Shared Storage in that compatability filter/matrix?

Yes, the MD3220 is compatible with VMware vSphere/ESXi hosts, for SAS.

Thanks.  I will verify this when we receive the hardware in a few days.  I have seen some issues with this configuration in other forums.
