windows 2003 folders, hidden option

has some folders in windows 2003 that has the 'hidden' checkbox checked and dimmed. I would need to uncheck 'hide protected operating system files (recommended)', uncheck 'view hidden files' before can see these folders. anyway to uncheck the 'hidden' option?

Hi,

Firstly you can select the option "'hide protected operating system files (recommended" from Tools>>Folder Options>>View.

Once it is done, you can either right click and select properties of the folder/file and uncheck the option or right click the empty space and properties then change the tick mark.

Usually it comes if it enabled on root drive or folder. Unchecking it from root then it will apply for child folders as well.

From CMD:

Go to folder directory:
C:\ attric -h -s file_name

you can  user * instead of file name. to unhide all files.
